Instrumentation
Specialist instruments for forces, pressures and temperatures
Huxley Bertram Tablet Compaction Simulators are primarily used in the pharmaceutical industry. However, they are also used to compact powders in the metals, nuclear, ceramics, batteries, and food industries.
Compaction simulators are high-force, extremely dynamic, instrumented presses that are crucial in the complex world of pharmaceutical tableting (also known as Oral Solid Dose, OSD). They enable transformation in R&D, formulation, scale-up, and production processes. Their primary purpose is to precisely replicate the motions and dynamic response of a high-speed production rotary tablet press. This is carried out using an instrumented single-punch-and-die set, one tablet at a time. This provides unprecedented insight into what is happening during tablet compaction, allowing rapid iteration of the compaction process and tablet design with precisely controlled variation to perfect the tablet formulation.
Huxley Bertram’s HB100 Compaction simulator is widely regarded as the highest-performance machine available. The HB100 benefits from 20+ years of innovation and continuous development. Clients include many leading international pharmaceutical companies. HB100 simulators are an integral part of their R&D and tablet formulation processes.
The Huxley Bertram HB50 offers much of the performance and accuracy of the HB100 in a more compact package. Facilitating rapid R&D and formulation development in a compact package.
We provide an exceptional range of tooling and accessories, giving you the freedom to explore any aspect of the powder you can envisage. We even offer customer tooling design, build, and integration into our machines to challenge the boundaries of current science.
